New Pictures

Sorry it has been a little while since I last posted. Things have goiong pretty well for us. This weekend was pretty full though. On Saturday we went up to Barron, WI for a graduation party for Bert's niece. Then on Sunday we went to see my sister Leslie and watch the Twins game. There is a picture of Leslie, me and our two "babies" (her baby is her dog) all matching in our Twins garb. The Twins won the game thanks to a Grand Slam from Jason Kubel so that was exciting. And then yesterday my parent's came to town and we went to Bayport, MN for a Memorial Day picnic. The picnic included my sister and her boyfriend, Jim, my Aunt Linda as well as some family friends that most of us hadn't seen in awhile, the Wolds: Steve, Judy, Marissa and her husband Peter. It was a pretty good day for it except there could have been less wind. We had a good picnic spot close to the St. Croix River. So today Wyatt and I are pretty much just relaxing and resting after the long weekend.

Aren't I cute when I'm squeaky clean!

Go Twins go!!

So cute and peaceful when he's sleeping!

4 Months old!

Today is Wyatt's 4 month birthday. It has been a pretty good day for us. We have been working on Wyatt rolling over all by himself from his belly to his back and today was the day that he did it!! I still have to make sure his one arm is tucked under his body but otherwise he did it by himself. Also this week when Aunt Leslie was watching him, Wyatt grabbed his musical "lion" by the tail and made it play. I have been able to get both of these events on video so enjoy! (You can ignore my speaking in the rolling over video.)

Here's trouble if I ever saw it!

Doctor's appointment

Today Wyatt had his 4 month doctor's appointment and he is doing great! He had to get 4 more shots which didn't go too badly. He cried but got over it pretty quickly. Then he also had his statistics taken: head circumference = 16.25 inches (25%); weight = 14 lbs. 3 oz (50%); and height = 25.75 inches (80%). So as you can tell he is tall with a small head but just the "right" weight. That's about all for know. I hope all you mothers had a wonderful Mother's Day.

The Zoo

There has been a few things since I last posted at the beginning of the week. The first has to deal with baby-sitting. You see I'm able to bring Wyatt to work with me and that is what I have done since he was 7 weeks old. Well my sister was done with school last week and has an internship in the Cities that doesn't start until May 19th. So she is in the area with a bit of time on her hands. Because of this she offered to watch Wyatt so I didn't have to bring him into work with me so that is what I did this week and will do next week. Leslie did very well with Wyatt this week even though she didn't have much baby experience before this. Wyatt did well but his mom missed him quite a bit (even though I was able to get a bit more work done).
Here Wyatt is sporting his Michigan onesie while being held by his Auntie Leslie (who gave him the onesie; she's a Law student at Ann Arbor, MI).

Then the other thing is that yesterday Wyatt and I went to the Como Zoo to meet a couple of friends and their 7 month old son (along with two other mothers and their daughters) who moved to Mississippi in August just before their son was born so this was the first time we were able to meet each other's sons. We had fun seeing all of the animals including a large lion, mountain lion, seals, penguins, giraffes, a zebra, a tiger and a few others. Granted this trip was more for the parents to see each other and show off our children rather than for our children to form memories. Wyatt got pretty tired and eventually fell asleep while walking around the zoo.
And then from last night to this afternoon Bert, Wyatt and I puppy-sat my sister's dog, Louie. It was quite chaotic at times but it wasn't too bad. I wasn't able to put Wyatt on his floor mat like I do often but it worked out. Louie and Hawk had a lot of fun seeing each other. I think Louie started missing Leslie because he kept looking out the window (j/k; he just really likes looking out windows and seeing what is going on outside).
For now that's about it. In a few days Wyatt has his 4 month doctor's appointment so I will post his statistics when I get them on Tuesday.

Cool Dude!

Bert and I have noticed that it is sometimes impossible to keep the sun out of Wyatt's eyes. Because of this I found some baby sunglasses. I took the boys (Wyatt and Hawk) out for a walk yesterday and was able to see how well the sunglasses worked. Wyatt didn't like them too much at first but then I think he realized what they were for because he stopped fussing and let them be.

I know that I have a few videos on my blog of Wyatt on his floor mat but he likes it and does some fun things on it. Today he was getting pretty excited and I was finally able to get a video of it. Wyatt seems to know what the camera is for because everytime I take it out he stops what he's doing and just looks at the camera so it makes it hard to get him doing anything cute. He's getting to the point in his development where he wants to grab and hit things but can't coordinate his arm movements to actually to it and that is what this video portrays. It's so much fun to watch it is what I do most of the day if Wyatt isn't sleeping or eating.

Sitting and Flying!

Howdy everyone. Each and every day there is something new that I see in Wyatt. I have been propping him in a sitting position leaning on me for a couple weeks so he could see things from a new vantage point. Then yesterday when we were at our "Baby and Me" class he started leaning forward and before I could catch him he pushed himself back upright. Granted he didn't lean too far forward but still. Then I got to noticing that he was sitting pretty steady and so I took my hands away and sure enough he was able to stay sitting for a second before toppling over. Bert and I were even able to take a picture in that quick second so I've attached a picture of Wyatt sitting up all by himself.

I have also noticed that Wyatt likes to be in the air. There is this song that we sing at Baby and Me called "Coo-Coo Clock" where we lift the babies in the air a few times and that is definitely Wyatt's favorite song. So I have started flying him above my head now that his head is strong enough and not so wobbly. He has a blast doing that. He has also starting to drool a bit more especially since his hands are often in his mouth. Well, the other day while I was flying him over my head he drooled on me. And not only did he droool on me his drool happened to hit me right in the mouth. It was quite funny after I got over the shock of it.
