Wyatt's Baptism

Yesterday Wyatt was baptized! It was a great service with Wyatt putting in his two sense as usual. He was kind of noisy while we were standing up front but then when it came to putting the water on his head he was quiet and seemed to enjoy it. We were blessed enough to have had lots of family with us for the occasion making a special day even more special. I would like to thank my brother Kyle and his wife Marie for being Wyatt's Godparents. Also, thanks to everyone who made the barbeque at our house afterwards a success with all of the food that was provided.

When my family was over on Saturday, they found Wyatt very entertaining. My brother saw how small Wyatt's feet were and thought it would be fun to do a little size comparison between his and Wyatt's feet. So Kyle took off his shoes for the comparison (Kyle wears a size 12). Then they (Kyle and my mom) saw Kyle's shoes sitting there and thought it would be funny to see what Wyatt looked like in Kyle's shoes. It looked like Wyatt was going on a skiing trip! It looked really funny and to think that Bert's feet are even bigger than my brothers.

These are BIG shoes to fill!!
With my family in town I thought I would give a couple of them an opportunity to babysit so on Saturday my sister, Leslie, came over. She never really babysat when she was younger but after having seen her with Wyatt a few weeks ago and teaching her some of the finer skills like changing diapers and such I knew that she would do just fine. And she did. But it was still a little nerve wracking for me but more because it was the first time I was leaving him with anyone but my mom and Bert for more than an hour (I was gone almost 2.5 hours). Then my dad also got some time to babysit Wyatt this morning. He even got Wyatt to sleep but then when I got home our dog barked and woke him up.

Some of you may know that on Friday Wyatt had an MRI of his head. It came about by me asking his doctor about a lesion on his head that he has had since birth. The doctor didn't know what it was so I went to see the pediatrician (his doctor is a family practice doctor) and she also didn't know what it was. In the meantime Wyatt's doctor went to a conference and thought it was something he saw there, Aplasia Cutis Congenita (ACC), so he referred us to a dermatologist. The dermatologist didn't think it was ACC but didn't know what it was so wanted to biopsy it but since it is on the scalp they can't just biopsy it in case there is something in the lesion connected to something in the brain. To figure this out he needed an MRI. So that took place on Friday. We had the MRI done at Children's West in Minnetonka (about an hour away) because my mom works there everyother week and she knew the doctors and their procedures and she thought we would feel more comfortable with that over going someplace unknown to us. She was right. It wasn't a week that she was working but she was able to be there with us and that was very awesome and kept me more relaxed. The bummer about it is that, because of Wyatt's age, he needed to be sedated and intubated. He did really well. He was in the MRI for about an hour and away from me about 2 hours. Wyatt did have a little bit of a throat irritation from the intubation tube which also caused a little bit of congestion but otherwise took it like a champ. I do not yet know the results of the MRI (hopefully will hear tomorrow) but I will post another post to let people know when I know. Oh yeah, nobody thinks the lesion on his head is a big deal but they want to make sure and that's why we are going through all of this.
